"How to Hug" is a basic story on the does and don'ts of hugging.... call it a guide to how, when, where, and who to hug!Notes-- The illustrations are soft water colors featuring lots of fun animals (each page features a new animal!) - probably the highlight of the story.- Not so much a story but a guide to hugging. It may be a little too basic for children over 4.- Most of the words are pretty basic and could be read by a 3rd graderFinal verdict - A nicely illustrated guide on the joys of hugging.4 Stars
I bought "How to Hug" to read to my twin grandchildren when they get a little older. I read over the book and thought it was rather blah.The illustrations are better than the story, which I thought had some strange ideas about hugs. Never hug anyone when they are angry? Hmmm...what better time does someone need hugging? I did like that one section said it was alright to say no to a hug.Some of the illustrations were cute but a bit off, too, showing children hugging an opossum and other wild animals. I guess I should have known - the cover has a child hugging an elephant.Maybe I've been away from children's books too long but this one definitely wasn't a favorite of mine.
I enjoyed the book which I purchased to read to my Granddaughter. I ran into some technical difficulties. The book does not work on my kindle or iPad. My phone let me check it out, but I struggled enlarging the words. Perhaps you could get your tech team to research it. Thank you.
I think everybody in the family loved this book. Even the little kid we bought it for. One of our grandson's is not a "hugger". So his parents says he can just shake hands, and nobody insists. This book is just perfect for little people who do not want to be swallowed even by loving swoops of relatives. This book is full of respect, affection, humor, and really cheerful children and animals.

This was the first book she wanted read to her on Christmas Eve.
Cute, sweet and silly at times. The book was also nicely illustrated. A Perfect read for kids right before bedtime.
My granddaughters don't always want to get hugs, and have been educated on what is a good or bad hug. I wanted to reinforce those feelings by letting them read it in a book
Positive, upbeat, happy and fu n to read. A lovely book for all ages young and old alike. Share it with someone you love. A cute gift for Valentine's day with no hidden romantic agenda. Would recommend to anyone.😃😃😃
