Fox, who broke from his Roman Catholic roots with his earlier books The Coming of the Cosmic Christ and Creation Spirituality, presents quotations from various faith traditions to introduce what he believes are the universals of every faith. The title comes from Fox's metaphor that every religious tradition is a different well that descends to a single subterranean river of spirituality. This is scarcely an original idea, but Fox has been one of its greatest popularizers, in the company of such illuminati as John Dominic Crossan and the scholars of the Jesus Seminar. Using the approach he has named "Deep Ecumenism," Fox writes about four universal areas of spirituality (relating to creation, relating to the divine, relating to ourselves and relating to the future), integrating quotations from the sacred writings and stories of Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, folk religions and other traditions. Many of the selected quotations are set off by special margins, while others occur in boldface type in Fox's own running text. Concluding with "Eighteen Myths for Remythologizing our Species"Aranging from the unsurprising insight that all traditions can learn from each other to the intriguing idea that sexuality is sacredAFox continues to be an articulate presenter of the trends that he helped put in motion. The book beautifully shares how the Infinite Lord God Almighty is not limited by any "box" someone (or some groups) might attempt to enclose Almighty Divine God, The Holy Spirit in. Diving into its contents some persons who may have sort of boxed-in their own mind, heart, spirit, and soul might be inspirited to open their hearts and allow the full infinite Grace of God flow in and THROUGH them. This of course would in turn fill them and free them to be fully used-of-God in loving service of who-ever they may come across in life.Clearly this is a beautiful and divine "putting of pen to paper" for us Interfaith Ministers and Chaplains. However, even those who may be dogmatic in thought and nature, judgmental/critical, and/or may take their own respective faith's Teachings and Scripture as black-and-white in-a-square-box literal, can have their eyes and hearts begin to open and layers of crusty-scales begin to fall.Sincerely searching the heart, surrendering in loving-service and prayer, in silent contemplation, and perhaps reflecting with open-hearted trusted fellow-beings, one may begin to see and understand that the basis, the central core, of All Faiths is Pure Selfless Love, Agape' Love, Unconditional Love... selfless Loving Service shall then unfold quite organically and naturally in the heart, mind, soul, intentions, thoughts, words, deeds, and actions of such-a-one. I heartily recommend it to one and all.

Good conglomeration of other authors and poets and their mystic, cosmic views, but I never really got to know Matthew Fox's personal views as a Catholic priest turned Episcopalian. As a Catholic, that was important to me.

This book has been an eyeopener for me. As a person living within a interfaith community I felt very open minded and somewhat educated about the different religions overall. I have been surprised at learning so many different and important ideas and view points concerning our major religions and the important individuals connected to them. Feel like a lot of my questions have been answered in a world view way.

I love the way it is formatted, with quotes from the mouths of those who practice particular faith traditions. Loove the inclusiveness.

Fascinating book, so many things I didn't know.

I enjoyed this enormously - just as much as his earlier books, "The Coming of the Cosmic Christ" and "Original Blessings."

This book has been a companion to me for daily meditation. The compilation of sacred truths from global religions is one of the hallmark of the author's presentation.

I bought "How to Hug" to read to my twin grandchildren when they get a little older. I read over the book and thought it was rather blah.The illustrations are better than the story, which I thought had some strange ideas about hugs. Never hug anyone when they are angry? Hmmm...what better time does someone need hugging? I did like that one section said it was alright to say no to a hug.Some of the illustrations were cute but a bit off, too, showing children hugging an opossum and other wild animals. I guess I should have known - the cover has a child hugging an elephant.Maybe I've been away from children's books too long but this one definitely wasn't a favorite of mine.

I enjoyed the book which I purchased to read to my Granddaughter. I ran into some technical difficulties. The book does not work on my kindle or iPad. My phone let me check it out, but I struggled enlarging the words. Perhaps you could get your tech team to research it. Thank you.

I think everybody in the family loved this book. Even the little kid we bought it for. One of our grandson's is not a "hugger". So his parents says he can just shake hands, and nobody insists. This book is just perfect for little people who do not want to be swallowed even by loving swoops of relatives. This book is full of respect, affection, humor, and really cheerful children and animals.

Once I started it I was hooked. The characters were interesting. I liked Sassi and her husbands chemistry and I liked that I just couldn't figure out why Sassi was willing to risk everything on just sex. It kept me reading because I needed to know the answer. Without giving to much away... I absolutely loved the twist all three of them! He did what? Needless to say the last page, last sentence my mouth was on the floor and I ordered the second book right away.

I loved loved loved this book. Something was always happening - not a dull moment. What a whirlwind relationship and I can’t wait to see what happens to Sassi marriage and the on going situation with Polo. I think Sassi is so stupid and do not think. Don’t want to give anything away but this is a must read. On to the continuation.

If Sassi thought they were gonna go the way she didn't plan & yes I said didn't plan, then she got what she didn't deserve & that was her husband Eddie. To bad we have to put our hand over the fire, to feel if it's really hot. Polo was sickening from the beginning to me & for Sassi to continue that craziness is well again, something she didn't plan for. Good job B. M. Hardin.

This book started off as a normal story about a married couple going through issues. Then, the story began to take a series of twists and turns that led down a much darker path. By the end, I couldn't wait to download part two... so I did lol.

Awesome novel. Loved every minute of it. I couldn't put this novel down, I just read and read it for like hours and the part 2 the conclusion was fantastic as well. My first book I read by her and now I've added other novels by her to my collection.

This is the second book I have read by this author and its great BUT the last page was a disappointment. To leave the character in that state insures we will buy book two, which I would have done anyways, so a better end of part ! may have been a good idea. She is so good there is no reason to lure the reader to book 2... it was good as is to make me want to read more.

The book was good, that damn sassi, cheating on her husband for his friend, come on that's too close to home, but I understand, if ur rocks ain't getting knocked fund someone that will take u there. Can't wait to read part 2. Micki at the end, how long have she been known Eddie and Polo, Micki is very secretive as ever, I knew something wasn't right when Eddie said he and Micki had talked. Now I'm ready to read part 2.

This book had me engrossed from the first page. That dam Polo ain't sh"t. I can't even believe some of the events that have taken place. Especially the ending, I'm like what???? No she didn't just leave it like that. I don't want to spoil it for anyone. You need to download your copy immediately. Big up to the author B. M Hardin, you did your thing with this one. I can't wait to start part 2.
